About the YVICG

The Yarra Valley Italian Cultural Group, YVICG, was formed to support the Italian community. Acknowledgment of the Italian immigration and settlement in the Yarra Valley is vital so that those early days of life can be shared for generations to come.

“THINK OF WHAT HAS BEEN ACHIEVED BY THE VISION AND SACRIFICES OF THOSE BEFORE US AND WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO DO AT PRESENT AND YOU WILL SHARE IN GREAT PLANS WE HAVE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.”

The YVICG has taken up this challenge of getting this group together for the purpose of sharing their stories for a book so that future generations have a link to their past through their family history.

The Committee is chaired by Luigi Fotia and members include Maria McCarthy, Grace Faraone, Franca Giusto, Paola Manzella, Rosina Edwards, Isabel Pignataro, Caterina Fotia, Peter D’Alosio, Leslie Wood, Isabel Monaco, Anthony McAleer (Author), Gail White, and Mary Tabacchiera (Treasurer).

New members are welcome, contact Luigi Fotia on (03) 5964 4920 for more information.
